Sergei recently completed a Master of Management in Healthcare at ICL, Auckland (2025). He also holds a Diploma of Professional Retraining in Therapeutic Physical Education (2012) and a Diploma in Economics (2005).

He has dual experience as a manager and healthcare practitioner, drawing on ancient humoral medicine and mindful biodynamic movement practices. In Russia, he founded and managed a holistic health centre in Moscow, and previously served as Managing Director of a group of companies.

His interests include integrative and collaborative healthcare models, holistic health perspectives, healthcare communication, indigenous health frameworks, and qualitative research methods. He has deep knowledge of Biodynamic movement within physiotherapy, Unani (the Avicenna tradition of Arabian medicine) and Traditional Chinese Medicine, along with a range of diagnostic methods.

His recent academic research focused on patient perspectives on collaborative care in Aotearoa New Zealand, the integration of Western and Traditional medicine systems, and the role of storytelling in health journey narratives.

Outside of work, Sergei enjoys spending time with his family and friends, practises Tai Chi—drawing on a long-standing interest in mindfulness and ancient philosophy.
